“The most appealing aspect of dentistry to me is being able to build long lasting relationships with my patients while helping to achieve beautiful smiles and good oral health. I desire to create an atmosphere where patients feel comfortable and cared for. I treat all patients as if they were my very own family – with a gentle touch and great precision.”
– Dr. Sakai

Dr. Laurianne Sakai grew up in Sammamish, WA. She attended Skyline High School and earned a Bachelor in Science in Biology, Anthropology and Chemistry from Western Washington University. With the desire to become a dentist, Dr. Sakai continued her studies graduating from The University of Washington School of Dentistry. Dr. Sakai was elected class Secretary by her classmates all four years of dental school and was nominated to be Inter-professional Director of the American Association of Public Health Dentistry. Upon graduation from dental school, Dr. Sakai was honored with the University of Washington Leadership Award in Community Service.

After dental school, Dr. Sakai completed an additional year of training in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency where she gained additional hand skills in dental surgery, pediatrics, cosmetics, and removable appliances. Due to Dr. Sakai’s advanced training in pediatrics, she is very comfortable treating kids with and without sedation. Her energetic and friendly personality accommodates children in a way where they can feel safe and comfortable getting dental care. Our doctors know that going to see the dentist can be an intimidating experience, for both adults and children alike! Dr. Sakai is well known for her ability to make patients feel comfortable and relaxed by thoroughly communicating procedures and treatment plans to patients in a way that is easy to understand.

Community Involvement

Dr. Sakai is passionate about helping others. She has been involved with feeding the homeless in Seattle, providing dental care for low-income families in Whatcom and Skagit Counties, Children’s dental fairs, and visiting schools to discuss oral hygiene techniques with school students.

Outside the Office

When she’s not at the office, Dr. Sakai enjoys spending time with her family, Hawaiian hula dancing, and working out. She is very active in her church and enjoys reading her Bible.
